Over £100,000 Raised for Charity at the Property Triathlon 2008
24 July 2008
Over £100,000 has been raised for charity at the second King Sturge Property Triathlon, which took place at Dorney Lake on 11th July 2008, and sponsorship is still flooding in.
An amazing 2000 people from the property industry took part, making it the fifth largest triathlon in the UK.
Known last year as the 'Millionaires' Wave,' and this year dubbed the 'Credit Crunchers,' the over 50s wave included Jones Lang
LaSalle’s Bob Dyson, Brixton’s Mike Andrews, CB Richard Ellis’s Malcolm Dalgleish and Frogmore’s Stuart Jenkin, along with King Sturge’s joint
senior partners, Chris Ireland and Richard Batten.
The oldest competitor was former King Sturge partner Malcolm King, now of Eversleigh Investment, who crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 52 minutes.
King Sturge-sponsored Triathlon World Champion and Olympic hopeful, Helen Tucker, handed out the prizes, joined by fellow Olympian and World Under-23 Triathlon Champion, Alistair Brownlee.
The downpours failed to dampen any spirits and competitors were spurred on by a mass of cheering spectators.
Many thanks to everyone that took part and made the day a success.
Here's to the 2009 Property Triathlon!
